Ada McCoy

Ada Marie "Lisa" McCoy, age 63, of Bedias, Texas passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021. A Visitation will be held Monday, March 8, from 2-5 pm at Hillier of BRYAN.

Lisa grew up in Savage, Maryland with her parents, Thelma Jean Keller and Edward Clint Hollifield, in a big family with eight siblings, Theresa, Eddie, Tracy, Sherry, Betty, Paula, Becky, and Roger. Lisa loved horses as a child. She was once kicked off the school bus so she rode her horse to school! Lisa had always been a loving and free-spirited woman. She started a career in nursing and truck driving. Over the years, her truck driving allowed her to visit every state except Hawaii and Alaska. She enjoyed travelling and loved that her job allowed her to travel to so many places for her to explore.

Lisa married the love of her life, Steve McCoy, on July 2nd and they remained married for 26 wonderful years. Lisa adored her three children, Christina, Elizabeth, and Frank, always saying her loving phrase to them, "Love you to the moon and back." She always taught her children, and later on her grandchildren, to always stand up for what you believe. When her grandkids came into her life was one of the most memorable times for her; family mattered the most to Lisa. She also loved her animals, her horses and cats, and cared for them as a part of her family.

Lisa getting her nails done and collecting fairies, crystals, jewelry, and dream catchers. People will always remember her for being there for everybody she knew. She was always so reliable. Her humor will be remembered too as she was always making light of any situation.

Ada will be remembered by her husband, Steve McCoy; children, Christina Getson, Elizabeth Getson, and Frank Getson Jr.; grandchildren, Kimberly Simmons and husband James Simmons, Taylor Ward, Anthony Thomas, and Kaleigh Lucas; siblings, Theresa Duley, Eddie Hollifield, Tracy Crowder, Sherry King, Paula Fortenberry, and Roger Hollifield; her cats, Tiger, Pearl, and Salem; and horses, Hurricane and Rain.

Lisa will be reunited with her parents, Thelma Jean Keller and Edward Clint Hollifield; and her two sisters, Betty Capps and Becky Cructhley.

The family would like to acknowledge the Provost family, The Minor family, and the Garrett family for their care and support.
